There are many types of vascular disease that can occur in legs that Advanced Heart And Vascular Center of New Mexico can treat.


Early detection is key to avoid complications. We offer treatment for the following conditions:


  • Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) caused by chronic narrowing or blockage in arteries and can lead to the following symptoms:
  • Leg cramps
  • Pain
  • Sores/ulcers
  • Skin color changes
  • Weak to no pulses in the legs


  • Chronic venous insufficiency - Valves in your veins in your legs don’t work to help push the blood back to your heart which can cause blood to pool in the legs creating increased pressure on the walls of the veins. Look for the following symptoms:
  • Varicose or spider veins
  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis DVT - blood clot develops deep in a vein. It can be life-threatening if part of the clot dislodges and travels to the patient's lung. It is called pulmonary embolism which requires urgent medical treatment
  • Leg pain
  • Burning sensation
  • Warm to the touch
  • Red or discolored skin
  • Leg tenderness
  • Chest pain/tightness
  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness/lightheaded
  • Palpitations or fast heartbeat
